Uncommonly, some cases may be performed at additional Northside Hospital campuses, which can be 30-45 mins away from the Perimeter; however, this is not typical. Sites receiving multiple verifiable complaints will be left on the listing with a notice indicating as such. Note that many local properties do not have on-site dining or 24/7 shuttle access. However, Uber & Lyft are abundant if you do not have a rental car, and there are virtually unlimited options for food delivery through local restaurants including via GrubHub, DoorDash, UberEats and Postmates (etc.). Additionally, there is a shopping complex located right across from our office where you can buy groceries, fill your prescriptions before surgery and more. HOME HEALTH CARE SERVICES:

Patients are generally not permitted to come for surgery alone. However, should the need arise for at home/in hotel post-op care for a few days following surgery, there are resources listed on our integrative care resource page located here (see ‘home health care’ category). Note that fees for such services are completely separate from the CEC and need to be discussed and scheduled by the patient. The CEC does not endorse or recommend any specific services and all resources are provided for information purposes only.

CHARITABLE GROUND & AIR ASSISTANCE:

We have also received the following information (current as of this writing) from Mercy Medical Angels for those patients who may qualify for transportation assistance. Please note that the CEC has no affiliation, or formal arrangements in place, with Mercy Medical services; we are providing this information solely as a further resource. Interested parties must contact the organization and work out all arrangements directly. The CEC will provide patients who qualify for services with the required medical paperwork as needed.

Ground: a financial need-based program that provides ground transportation assistance to medical appointments over 50 miles away in the form of gas cards, bus and train tickets. At least 10 business days and verification of appointment and financial need required. The application for assistance can be found online at: http://mercymedical.org/request-assistance

Commercial Air: a financial need-based program that provides roundtrip air transportation to medical care. A minimum of 21 days’ notice prior to departure date to receive all necessary paperwork (appointment confirmation, financial verification, and medical clearance from patients doctor to verify the patient is medically stable to fly on a commercial aircraft coach seating) in order to be able to assist with roundtrip air travel for a medical appointment is required. The application for commercial air assistance can be found online at: http://mercymedical.org/request-assistance

Volunteer Pilot: for trips that are about 150 to 700 miles each way, air transportation via volunteer pilots is another type of assistance offered. A minimum of 10 business days’ notice prior to departure date to receive all necessary paperwork (appointment confirmation, financial verification, and medical clearance from patients doctor to verify the patient is medically stable to fly) in order to be able to assist with volunteer pilot flights for a medical appointment is required. Veterans: Mercy Medical is proud to provide both ground and air transportation assistance for veterans, active duty military, and their families to receive medical care. Veterans’ application for assistance can be found online at: http://mercymedical.org/request-assistance
